Javier N. Solis, President & CEO
Javier left Ecuador in 1989 and attended the City University of New York. In 1994, Javier became a Constituent Liaison to the New York State Senate where Javier became adept in assisting constituents resolve their problems through persistent advocacy and courteous follow-up.
Javier's experience in advocacy and negotiating complex bureaucracies prepared him well to help homeowners at risk of losing their homes: their dreams with two of the largest Homeownership Counseling Programs in New York. With the utilization of loss mitigation tools and following HUD, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac's guidelines, Javier was able to stop foreclosures, reach forbearance agreements and fight for loan modifications for over 1,000 homeowners. Javier became passionate and grew knowledgeable about sub-prime lending issues, Home Mortgage Disclosure Data (HMDA), and bank performance according to the Community Reinvestment Act. Javier developed the curriculum for a series of five educational Homebuyers' Seminars. Javier had become an advocate on behalf of first-time home buyers, and an outspoken critic of unprofessional and questionable practices by those involved in the home buying process. Javier's expertise and knowledge has been featured on Channel 9, NBC-Telemundo-Channel 47, Univision-channel 41, the Christian Vision Radio and several newspapers. As part of his commitment to financial education, since 1999, Javier has been a volunteer host of the biweekly Noticiero 47's segment "Su Casa" and the weekly program "Casa y Finanzas" at NBC-Telemundo. He also serves as the Treasurer and Executive Board member at the New York City Hispanic Clergy Association for Justice, Inc. Javier serves as volunteer guest speaker to several community organizations in several states.
Javier opened his first Brooklyn office where he started from zero. Javier Currently has 4 offices and serves over 8,000 clients from several areas of the nation. During those years, Javier developed an effective and aggressive marketing strategy, as well as an administrative structure that helped him bring his practice to the national level it is now. These Marketing and Administrative strategies combined with a state of the art web management system are the key features available to all potential Tax Centers Owners. He strongly believes that education and expert advice are the key to a productive and profitable business.
In 2007 Javier launched Los Taxes, the First Latino Network of Tax Centers in America. Los Taxes will focus on providing excellence in tax preparation service to the Latino community. "Para NuestraGente," For our People, states the company's commitment to meet the financial needs of Hispanics, especially in the area of tax preparation, by offering an office environment where Hispanic taxpayers can find professionals who understand not only their language but specifically their culture.
In 2005, Javier and other Real Estate professionals in NY started the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals - NAHREP NYC Chapter, where he serves as it President. In 2007, Javier funded the NAHREP Metro DC Chapter where he served as its President.
After 6 years of happy marriage, Javier lost his beautiful wife Wanda to brain cancer in 2010 and now he is a strong voice in favor of natural and alternative medicine against cancer!
Maria Jose Zelaya, COO
Maria Jose Zelaya was born in El Sаlvаdor. Arrived to USA when she was 16 yrs old. Lаtеr on, she fіnіshеd her hіgh school.Maria Jose rеcеіvеd а Bachelor's Dеgrееаs an Accountant from the University of Maryland University College while she worked under the cаpаcіty of Staff Accountant/Exеcutіvе Assistant of Myеr-Emco Inc. Her mаjorrеsponsіbіlіtіеswеrе to mаnаgеpаyroll for 175 еmployееs, mаnаgіngаccountspаyаblе, аccountsrеcеіvаblеs, dаіlycаsh flows, bаnkrеconcіlіаtіonеtc.
Yet the strongest single аspеct of Maria Jose is that her personal and professional development does not stop. She is currеntly еnrollеd аs а full-tіmе grаduаtе аccountаncy studеnt and very soon will be eligible to present the CPA exam in the states of Maryland and New York.
In аddіtіon to bеіng аcаdеmіcаlly successful, Maria Jose is аlso involved with real estate since 2004. She educates consumers to facilitate the understanding of what is to become a Homeowner. She is proud to say that in her 6 years of real estate practice, none of her clients lost their homes in these turbulent economic times. She was the co-founder of the National Association of Hispanic Real estate Professionals – NAHREP – Metro DC Chapter, where she served as the Executive Secretary. She is also involved in several non-profit organizations including the Annual Maryland Hispanic Business Conference, where she was very instrumental in coordinating all VIP events. Maria Jose has also seats on the Board of Directors of the MD Hispanic Business Conference, where she is the Vice-Chair and the upcoming Chair.
In 2007, Maria Jose joined Los Taxes Network family as one of its pioneers Tax Center owners. Maria Jose had no prior experience in taxation and she increased her clientele database from no clients to close to 1,000 in her 3rd tax season! Right after her first tax season, Los Taxes Network saw Maria Jose's aggressiveness and commitment to its national initiative, and proudly appointed her as its Chief Operations Officer. Maria Jose developed five franchises in the Metro DC area in the last two years and she has great plans for development at the local and national level.
Maria Jose is a proud mother of Daniela Alexa and Clarissa Maria, whom she adores with all her heart. They reside in Rockville, MD.
